Army National Guard Behavioral Health Program

About the ARNG Behavioral Health Program

The ARNG remains committed to the behavioral health readiness of our Soldiers through the Psychological Health Program. DOD INSTRUCTION 6490.04, Mental Health Evaluations of Members of the Military Services, establishes policy, assigns responsibilities and prescribes procedures for the referral, evaluation, treatment, and medical and command management of Service members who may require assessment for mental health issues, psychiatric hospitalization, and risk of imminent or potential danger to self or others. ARNG Behavioral Health continuously strives to transform existing processes and seize opportunities for strategic growth. Ongoing assessment of our clinical and administrative processes, embracing best practices, and data driven program efficacy will become cornerstones of our program to ensure purpose driven evolution of behavioral health readiness. This site, created through the partnership between NGB and USUHS, is intended to increase knowledge and productivity for all Army National Guard Behavioral Health Providers by bringing together applicable policies, forms and templates for ease of access and adherence to best practices to ensure behavior health readiness.
